Apache Web Server is grey out in Plesk Services Management

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 11.5 for Linux

Symptoms

Apache Web Server is not displaying in Plesk Services Management on Ubuntu.

Cause

Apache packages are not properly installed in the server.

Resolution

Execute the below commands in the server

    dpkg -l | grep apache2 | grep iU | awk '{printf("dpkg-reconfigure %s\",$2)}' | sh

and you will get an otput like below if any apache packages are not installed properly.

    root@test:~# dpkg -l | grep apache2 | grep iU | awk '{printf("dpkg-reconfigure %s\",$2)}' | sh
/usr/sbin/dpkg-reconfigure: apache2-mpm-itk is broken or not fully installed
/usr/sbin/dpkg-reconfigure: libapache2-mod-php5 is broken or not fully installed

Re-install the broken packages and refresh the Service Management from Plesk.
