- How to transfer Plesk key from one server to another?
According to End-User License Agreement, one Plesk license can be used only on one Plesk installation at a time. If it is required to transfer the Plesk license from one server to another, follow the steps below:
Before the transfer, make sure that your old server has been shut down.
Get the license file or activation code. License management functionality depends on where you purchased your license:
- If you are a Plesk Partner, take license from Key Administrator (KA) or contact your sales representative;
- If you purchased Plesk license from a Plesk reseller, please contact your provider;
- If you do not know where you bought your license, contact Plesk Sales Team.
Follow instructions to install license key in your Plesk.
Note: If your license was included into cloud instance with Plesk by default, it is not possible to move this license to the other server. If you are not sure whether your license is included by default or not, please contact Plesk Sales Team.
In case you are getting IP error, the following article might be useful: Unable to install/retrieve Plesk license: The current Plesk license cannot be used with the X.X.X.X IP address because the license is bound to another IP
