How to increase max upload file size for PHPMyadmin?

Applicable to:

  • Plesk for Linux
  • Plesk 12.5 for Windows

Symptoms

Customers can not upload MySQL dump in phpMyAdmin, because dump file is too large. The following error appears in phpMyAdmin interface:

You probably tried to upload a file that is too large. Please refer to documentation for a workaround for this limit.

Resolution

Increase parameters in Plesk php config file:

For Debian: /opt/psa/admin/conf/php.ini

For CentOS: /usr/local/psa/admin/conf/php.ini

  1. Set the following values greater than the dump file size:

    upload_max_filesize = 2000M
    post_max_size = 2000M
  2. Apply changes by restarting sw-engine service:

    # service sw-engine restart
  3. Try alternative solutions advised in the official phpMyAdmin documentation
