Watchdog breaks services on server reboot

Symptoms

When server is being rebooted and services are being stopped, watchdog starts some services. As a result, after reboot some services do not work:

  1. MySQL could not start because /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock was not deleted
  2. httpd shows default Apache page (not Plesk default page)

Cause

Watchdog breaks services on server reboot. Watchdog uses system ' init ' process to restart itself. This behavior was reported to Maintenance Team as a software issue with id #PPPM-1256 .

The issue has been completely fixed in Plesk 12.0.18 MU#50 according to Plesk 12.0.18 Release Notes .

Resolution

If you use Plesk 11.5.30 upgrade your Plesk to the latest version. If you use Plesk 12 make sure all the latest updates are installed.
