IP Address lost after server reboot and nginx failed to start: 99: Cannot assign requested address

Symptoms

IP Address lost after server reboot. Due to absent IP Address, Nginx fails to start after server reboot.

The following errors are shown:

# cat /var/log/messages | grep nginx
systemd: Starting Startup script for nginx service...
nginx: nginx: the configuration file /etc/nginx/nginx.conf syntax is ok
systemd: nginx.service: control process exited, code=exited status=1
systemd: Failed to start Startup script for nginx service.
systemd: Unit nginx.service entered failed state.
systemd: nginx.service failed.
nginx: nginx: [emerg] bind() to 1.2.3.4:443 failed (99: Cannot assign requested address)
nginx: nginx: configuration file /etc/nginx/nginx.conf test failed

Cause

NetworkManager prevents loading network interface.

Resolution

Check NetworkManager configuration with system administrator. Or try to disable service on server boot:

# chkconfig NetworkManager off
