Plesk Migrator: Unable to set the mailbox size limit for the domain

Applicable to:

  • Plesk Migrator

Symptoms

A migration process was completed with the following error:

[Migration] Plesk restore report problem:
Failed deployment of mail user john.doe@example.com
[Migration] Plesk restore report problem:
Execution of "C:\Program Files (x86)\Plesk\bin\mail.exe" --update john.doe@example.com -passwd "" -passwd_type sym -mailbox true -mbox_quota 524288000B -forwarding false -ignore-nonexistent-options failed with return code 1.
Stderr is
An error occurred while updating mail account: Unable to set the mailbox size limit for the domain: The size of this mailbox must not exceed the limit on amount of disk space allocated for mailboxes in this domain.

After migration, mailbox size is set to the value according to the default service plan on the destination server.

Cause

There is no subscription with customised parameters on a destination server, that is why default mailbox size is set according to the default service plan. Or the value of default mailbox size is greater than previous one.

Resolution

Increase default mailbox size for a domain on the destination server to required value and migrate once again.

Also, choose All configuration and content option when creating a migration session. In this case, a subscription will be migrated with all parameters according to values on a source server.
