Unable to use "Forgot your password?" link: Permission denied

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 11.5 for Windows

Symptoms

Attempt to use "Forgot your password?" link on Plesk login screen on Windows server fails with generic error "Permission denied".

Cause

This issue has been considered as software issue #PPPM-1241 and will be fixed in future product updates.

Workaround

Obtain current Admin password using the following command in CLI:

"%plesk_bin%\\plesksrvclient.exe" -get

Or reset Admin password using the following command:

"%plesk_bin%\\plesksrvclient.exe" -set <new_password>

Administrator can change password for users in Plesk GUI:

  1. Log into Plesk.
  2. Go to Customers > <customer_name> > Change Login Info .
  3. Enter a new password.
  4. Press Ok .
