Website show - Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress.

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 11.5 for Windows
  • Plesk 12.5 for Windows

Symptoms

  1. Web site example.com is hosted in IIS and showing the following error message while accessing it:

    Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress.
  2. In IIS > Sites > example.com > Handler mappings tab several handlers are responsible to handle .php files.

Cause

Duplicate custom .php handler mapping interfered with Plesk

Resolution

  1. Open IIS > Sites > example.com > Handler mappings tab
  2. Review handlers for .php and remove all redundant
