Unable to reconfigure website that shows Apache default page: Unknown Authz provider: valid-user

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Linux

Symptoms

  1. Websites are shown Apache default page.

  2. Attempt to reconfigure a domain fails with the following error:

    # /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/httpdmng --reconfigure-domain example.com
    ...
    ERR [panel] Apache config (14738793300.39331400) generation failed: Template_Exception: AH00526: Syntax error on line 39 of /etc/apache2/plesk.conf.d/vhosts/example.com.conf:
    Unknown Authz provider: valid-user

Cause

Corresponding Apache module is not enabled.

Resolution

  1. Enable required Apache module:

    # a2enmod authz_user
  2. Restart Apache:

    # service apache2 restart
