Unable to switch PHP versions for domain or create a new webspace: Permission denied with uncaught exception UnknownError

Symptoms

When switching PHP versions for domain, the following message appears at the top of the screen:

Error: Permission denied

/var/log/plesk/panel.log contains the following error:

Cause

Incorrect permissions in /var/lock/lmlib/container_locks directory.This is Plesk internal issue with ID #PPPM-2712 , that is planned to be fixed in future Plesk updates.

Resolution

Remove /var/lock/lmlib/container_locks directory and clear temporary files in /usr/local/psa/var/cache/ directory:

# rm -rf /var/lock/lmlib/container_locks
# rm -f /usr/local/psa/var/cache/*
# service sw-engine restart
