If using Wordpress with a plugin that can do redirects (e.g. an SEO plugin such as Yoast), a redirect loop may be causing this symptom - typically if this is the cause, you will find pages other than homepage load with no issue.

Try going to Hosting Settings page for the domain and unchecking the box marked "Permanent SEO-safe 301 redirect from HTTP to HTTPS"

If desired, you can re-check after deselecting the corresponding option in your plugin.

    Hello @David Wilson,

Probably, you meant one of the following articles:
    https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/214528825
    or
    https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000064049

    The solution is already included.

Except that in my case the symptom was a Plesk default page being displayed and not a "TOO MANY REDIRECTS" error, which would have been much easier to diagnose (and also easier to find the other article.)
