Why is mailbox size shown unlimited in a database, while other value is set in a subscription?

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 11.5 for Linux

Question

Mailbox size on a subscription is set as a certain value according to the Service Plan (for example, it is 50Mb). Why is 'mbox_quota' shown as -1 in psa.mail table:

MYSQL_PWD=`cat /etc/psa/.psa.shadow` mysql -u admin psa -Ne"select id, mail_name, mbox_quota from mail where dom_id=x"
+-----+-----------+------------+
| id | mail_name | mbox_quota |
+-----+-----------+------------+
| 72 | mailname | -1 |
+-----+-----------+------------+

Answer

-1 value in Database is expected valud in this case because in terms of business logic it means "Take value from Service Plan". So depending on mailbox option, -1 would mean "Unlimited", if the Service Plan has Unlimited Mailbox size, or "Take value from Service Plan".
