Parallels Plesk Sitebuilder: "You cannot decrease the Maximum number of regular sites value"

Applicable to:

  • Plesk Sitebuilder 4.5 for Linux
  • Web Presence Builder
  • Plesk Sitebuilder 4.5 for Windows

Symptoms

I'm trying to decrease parameter " Maximum number of regular sites " in a hosting plan ( Parallels Plesk Sitebuilder > Users > Plans > %plan_name% > General ). The following error appears:

You cannot decrease the Maximum number of regular sites value.

Cause

Some user has sites whose number is more than limit value you are trying to set in the hosting plan.

Resolution

Get users ids and number of their sites from the database of Parallels Plesk Sitebuilder 4.5.

  1. Connect to the database of Parallels Plesk Sitebuilder 4.5 .

  2. Get users list and number of their sites:

    mysql> select user_id, count(*) as 'sites num' from sitebuilder3.site group by user_id;
    +---------+-----------+
    | user_id | sites num |
    +---------+-----------+
    | 1 | 1 |
    | 4 | 2 | <== note user id with sites number, %user_id%=4
    | 7 | 1 |
  3. Get user details:

    mysql> select user_name, first_name, last_name, email from sitebuilder3.user where id=%user_id% and plan_id=%plan_id%;
    +-------------+--------------+-------------+---------+
    | user_name | first_name | last_name | email |
    +-------------+--------------+-------------+---------+
    | %user_name% | %first_name% | %last_name% | %email% |
    +-------------+--------------+-------------+---------+
    1 row in set (0.00 sec)

    Where %plan_id% is id of the plan you want to change. Plan id is shown in Parallels Plesk Sitebuilder on page Users > Plans when moving mouse over plan name. The information will appear if the user is assigned to the plan.

Contact the user to remove the site or remove it by yourself.

After that you'll be able to change the list in the hosting plan.
