Unable to log in to Plesk: HTTP Error 500.0 - Internal Server Error

Symptoms

Plesk login fails with the following error:

HTTP Error 500.0 - Exception
The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred

Cause

Some of Plesk packages were not installed or updated properly.

Resolution

  1. Install / update missing packages using command:

    "%plesk_bin%\\ai.exe" --console

    Packages that were not properly installed will be marked with an asterisk symbol like below:

    1. [*] Base packages of Plesk <- Some of packages were not installed
    2. [*] Plesk <- Some of packages were not installed
    3. [=] AWStats <- Component is installed
  2. If there were no packages marked with an asterisk found reinstall Plesk microupdates using the following command:

    "%plesk_bin%\\ai.exe" --select-product panel --select-release-current --reinstall-patch --install-component base
