Cannot disable mail service for a domain

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Linux
  • Plesk 12.0 for Linux

Symptoms

  1. It is not possible to disable mail service for a domain.

  2. /usr/local/psa/admin/logs/panel.log contains the following records:

    mailmng[19676]: Unable to open database /var/spool/postfix/plesk/passwd.db: unable to open database file
    mailmng[19676]: Unable to remove mail alias john.doe@example.com
    mailmng[19676]: Unable to open database /var/spool/postfix/plesk/passwd.db: unable to open database file
    mailmng[19676]: Unable to disable auth records for domain example.com

Cause

The issue is caused by too many files, that are kept open on removing mail aliases.

Bug #PPPM-3364 . It is fixed in Plesk 12 MU #72 and Plesk Onyx.

Resolution

Install the latest microupdates or upgrade to the latest Plesk version .
