Database was removed from remote server after removing subscription from the source server

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Linux

Symptoms

Migration from Plesk 12.5 to Plesk 12.5 is performed.

  1. There is a remote MySQL database server that is connected to both source and target servers;

  2. Source server hosts a subscription with a database located on the remote database server;

  3. After the migration the subscription was removed from the source server;

As a result, the database was removed from the remote MySQL server.

Cause

This is Plesk internal issue with id #PMT-3077 which is planned to be fixed in future Plesk updates.

Workaround

There are two options depending on what will be done with the source server:

  1. If the source server will be turned off, the database will be available on the target server. No need to do anything else.

  2. If the source server will remain in production, then it is recommended to suspend the subscription on the source server and not remove it.
