Unable to log in to Plesk: Administrator client not found

Symptoms

Unable to login to Plesk:

PleskFatalException: Administrator client not found

Cause

psa.clients table does not have the row where type equals 'admin':

    mysql> select id,type,login from clients where type='admin';
Empty set (0.00 sec)

Resolution

  1. Back up Plesk database as described in article

  2. Add the required row manually to psa database:

    mysql> INSERT INTO `clients` VALUES (1,'','','','admin',0,0,'7','','','','','','','','en-US',0,0,0,4,0,0,0,NULL,'true','',0,'admin','false',NULL,NULL);
    Query OK, 1 row affected, 1 warning (0.03 sec)

    mysql> select id,type,login from clients where id=1;
    +----+-------+-------+
    | id | type | login |
    +----+-------+-------+
    | 1 | admin | admin |
    +----+-------+-------+
    1 row in set (0.00 sec)

Note : if the required rows accidentally removed from psa database tables, they can be restored from the previously created dump, as described in http://kb.plesk.com/881 .
