A reseller gets "Permission denied" error on dns, mail and database operation via API-RPC

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 10.x for Linux
  • Plesk 11.x for Linux

Symptoms

Permission denied error appears when running API script to show DNS for reseller login:

Host: localhost:8443
Accept: */*
HTTP_AUTH_LOGIN: %reseller_login%
HTTP_AUTH_PASSWD: %reseller_password%
HTTP_PRETTY_PRINT: TRUE

The same API script run with admin user works perfectly.

Cause

This is Plesk internal issue #PPPM-973 , which has been fixed in Plesk 11.5 microupdate #33 .

Resolution

Apply the latest Plesk microupdates .
