Website is not accessible: 500.19 - Internal Server Error

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Windows


  • Unable to access the website the follownig error occurs:

    The page can not be displayed because an internal server error.
  • The following error is shown when Detailed errors option is chosen in IIS:

    HTTP Error 500.19 - Internal Server Error.
    The requested page cannot be accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid.

Website's web.config file contains information about invalid or wrongly configured custom errors.


  1. Create a backup of web.config file.

  2. Remove/comment all lines that error is referring to from web.config .

  3. Check if website is accessible now.

  4. If the error still persists and shows different lines, repeat from step #2.

Custom website configuration should be reviewed and fixed by a system administrator or a web-developer.
