How to install Tomcat in Plesk?

Warning: Tomcat is no longer provided starting from Plesk Onyx 17.8
To be able to run Java applications on domains hosted in Plesk, you need to install Tomcat, Plesk packages for Java support, configure them and start the service. During the operation, it will be required to have administrative access to Plesk. If any section is missing in your Plesk, make sure that it is up to date and contact server's administrator or hosting support.

Tomcat installation
- Log in to Plesk as admin.
- From the menu on the left, click Tools & Settings (Server settings for old versions)
- Сick Updates and Upgrades
- Click Add/Remove Components
- Click "
+
" next to Plesk hosting features - Select Tomcat Java Servlets support
- Click Continue
- Wait for notification about successful installation.
- Close the installer window.

Starting Tomcat
- Log in to Plesk as admin.
- From the menu on the left, click Tools & Settings (Server settings for old versions)
- From the Server Management section, click Services Management
- To the right of Server Management , click Play near Tomcat Java

how can we use java in plesk??
Hello @Toni d., thank you for the question.
As it is stated in this article, Tomcat usage among Plesk users has been steadily declining over the years, and our statistics do not show any evidence that this trend is going to change. Nevertheless, if the demand will be significant, we will consider a possibility of supporting Tomcat in some way.
In case you want to continue using java, consider using Plesk 17.5. Alternatively, you may manually install Tomcat on the server with Plesk. However, in this case, Tomcat won't be manageable via Plesk.
