Unable to upload files more than 2Gb through file manager or Backup Manager

Symptoms

Plesk is running on Windows 2008. When attempt to upload a file with a large size, Plesk shows following error:

HTTP Error 404.13 - Not Found
The request filtering module is configured to deny a request that exceeds the request content length.

Cause

The request contains a Content-Length header that is larger than the value specified for this header in maxAllowedContentLength property in ApplicationHost.config .

By default, the value of the maxAllowedContentLength property is 30000000.

Resolution

Modify the maxAllowedContentLength by using the follwoing command:

>%windir%\\system32\\inetsrv\\appcmd set config "PleskControlPanel/" -section:requestFiltering -requestLimits.maxAllowedContentLength:104857600

This command sets maxAllowedContentLength to 100MB.

Please note that the maximum file size which can be uploaded anywhere through IIS is 2GB ( maxAllowedContentLength = 2147483647 ). Parameter maxAllowedContentLength is set to 2GB in Plesk 10.4.4 by default.

Please use another way to upload a file to the server if its size is more than 2GB (for example, FTP). If it is a backup file, you can use the following command to upload a local file into the Plesk backup repository with command line:

>"%plesk_bin%\\pmm-ras.exe" --import-file-as-dump --dump-file-specification="C:\\backup.file"
