Plesk Upgrade from 11.0 to 11.5 is failing.

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 11.0 for Linux
  • Plesk 11.5 for Linux
  • Plesk 12.0 for Linux
  • Plesk 10.3 for Linux

Symptoms

Plesk upgrade from 11.0 to 11.5 failed with error:

ERROR while trying to execute SQL query, the query was: INSERT INTO `ServiceNodeConfiguration` (`serviceNodeId`, `section`, `name`, `value`) SELECT '1', 'webProxy', 'enabled', `value` FROM `ServiceNodeProperties` WHERE `serviceNodeId` = '1' AND `name` = 'server.nginx.enabled'

or

ERROR while trying to execute SQL query, the query was: INSERT INTO `ServiceNodeConfiguration` (`serviceNodeId`, `section`, `name`, `value`) SELECT '1', 'webServer', 'httpPort', `value` FROM `ServiceNodeProperties` WHERE `serviceNodeId` = '1' AND `name` = 'server.webserver.httpPort' Check the error reason(see log file: /tmp/plesk_11.5.30_installation.log), fix and try again

Cause

The PSA database became inconsistent after previous attempts to upgrade.

Resolution

  1. Check whether this records already exist in the psa.ServiceNodeConfiguration , for example:

    mysql> select * from ServiceNodeConfiguration where serviceNodeId='1' and section='webProxy' or section='webServer';

    +---------------+-----------+-----------+-------+
    | serviceNodeId | section | name | value |
    +---------------+-----------+-----------+-------+
    | 1 | webProxy | enabled | true |
    | 1 | webServer | httpPort | 7080 |
    | 1 | webServer | httpsPort | 7081 |
    +---------------+-----------+-----------+-------+
    3 rows in set (0.00 sec)
  2. Create PSA database backup:

    # mysqldump -uadmin -p`cat /etc/psa/.psa.shadow` psa > /root/psa_`date +%F`.sql
  3. Remove corresponding records from psa.ServiceNodeConfiguration :

    mysql> delete from psa.ServiceNodeConfiguration where section ='webProxy';
    Query OK, 1 row affected (0.07 sec)

    mysql> delete from psa.ServiceNodeConfiguration where section ='webServer';
    Query OK, 2 rows affected (0.06 sec)
  4. Rerun Plesk upgrade with following command:

    # /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/autoinstaller
