Atomic ModSecurity ruleset can not be updated: run-parts: /etc/cron.hourly/asl exited with return code 127

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Linux

Symptoms

Atomic ModSecurity ruleset can not be updated. Hourly or daily cronjob fail with return code 127

run-parts: /etc/cron.hourly/asl exited with return code 127

Cause

/var/asl/bin/asl file is missing

Resolution

  1. Create a symlink to /var/asl/bin/asl

    # ln -s /var/asl/bin/asl_cli_c /var/asl/bin/asl

  2. Edit /var/asl/bin/asl_cli_c with text editor and change the first string from #!/var/asl/usr/bin/php to #!/usr/bin/php
