Scheduled task cannot be executed and stays inactive

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Linux
  • Plesk 11.5 for Linux
  • Plesk 12.0 for Linux

Symptoms

  • Cron tasks for a subscription are disabled in Subscriptions > example.com > Scheduled Tasks and cannot be activated in Plesk web interface: when you click on a cron task to enable it, Plesk reports that the operation completed successfully, however, the task stays inactive as shown in the following screenshot:

Or

  • Scheduled cron tasks are not being executed.

Cause

This is a bug with ID #PPPM-4560 which is planned to be fixed in future Plesk updates.

Resolution

  • Suspend and activate a domain in Plesk.
  • If domain should not be suspended, allow cron tasks for subscription user by the following command:

    # /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/crontabmng allow user

Where user is the login of a system user that you manage cron jobs for.
