WordPress instance migration fails: Unable to restore Plesk extension 'wp-toolkit' for domain 'example.com' on target Plesk server

Symptoms

Plesk Migrator returns the following error for a subscription:

Unable to restore Plesk extension 'wp-toolkit' for domain 'example.com' on target Plesk server; domain data of this extension will not be deployed. You need to configure Plesk extension 'wp-toolkit' for domain 'example.com' manually on target Plesk server after migration

Cause

The WordPress instance is broken on the source server

Resolution

  1. Log into Plesk on the source server
  2. Make sure that the database information from Domains > example.com > File manager > httpdocs > wp-config.php corresponds to the one in Domains > example.com > Databases > User management > johndoe
  3. Log into Plesk on the target server and re-sync files and databases in Tools & Settings > Migration & Transfer Manager
