Unable to add PTR record: Incorrect DNS Record parameter values were specified

Symptoms

Unable to add PTR record with subnet mask other than 8, 16, 24 in Domains > example.com > DNS Settings > Add Record. The following error appears:

PLESK_ERROR: Incorrect DNS Record parameter values were specified

Cause

This error is caused by limitation of Plesk, which is considered as feature request with ID #PPPM-5231, which is planned to be implemented in future product updates.

Resolution

Set up 8, 16, 24 subnet mask which meets requirements:

  1. Log in to Plesk
  2. In Domains > example.com > DNS settings > Add Record specify subnet mask equal to 8, 16 or 24:

    The article is not really explicative. Which ip adress must we add? (the server?)
