The following error is returned on FTP login:
# ftp example.com

331 Please specify the password.
500 OOPS: cannot change directory:/var/www/vhosts/example.com/directory/
The following error is returned when transferring a file with FileZilla:
CONFIG_TEXT: 553 Could not create file
The user does not belong to the psacln group:
# groups user
user : user
The user is absent from Plesk database:
# plesk db -Ne 'SELECT COUNT(*) FROM sys_users WHERE login="user"'
A user was created outside of Plesk and therefore does not belong to the required group.
Create a new user from within Plesk control panel:
- Navigate to Domains > example.com > FTP Access > Add an FTP Account
As an alternative, add the user to the
Connect to the server via SSH
Modify the user's groups:
# usermod -aG psacln user
