Question
How to synchronize DNS zones using DigitalOcean DNS Extension automatically?
Answer
DNS zones are synchronized automatically by DigitalOcean DNS extension.
If zones are not updated make sure that the latest version of DigitalOcean DNS extension is installed.
If the issue persists:
- Log into Plesk
- Go to Extensions > DigitalOcean DNS
- Select the domain(s) that need to be resynced and click on Resync:
- If all domains need to be resynced click on Resync all:

@iamkingsleyf
Hi, Currently DigitalOcean DNS extension doesn't allow to update DNS zones automatically whenever DNS zones are being modified. The extension was designed to update zones when the Plesk administrator clicks Synchronize all zones in Extensions > DigitalOcean DNS > DNS Management.
alright thanks
@iamkingsleyf, feel free to contact us in case you will have any other questions.
Should the DigitalOcean DNS Extension update the SOA record on DigitalOcean? I am getting two errors (using mxtoolbox):
Primary Name Server Not Listed At Parent
Serial numbers do not match
Is this expected behavior?
Hi @Petteri Lehtonen,
as far as I know, all records should be synced, SOA as well. if this behavior is different for you, submit a request to investigate this issue: https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608509-How-to-submit-a-request-to-Plesk-support-
No DNS records appear in the Overview tab.
I authorised the extension, and clicked Synchronize all zones.
I need some guidance on any steps I might have missed, I checked all the documentation and none of it was helpful.
Thanks!
