Unable to use File Sharing: The file Sharing service is not compatible with PHP-FPM

Symptoms

  • Unable to use File Sharing feature. The following error is shown in Plesk UI:

    PLESK_WARN: The file Sharing service is not compatible with PHP-FPM.

Cause

File sharing feature does not work with PHP-FPM handler.

Resolution

  1. Log into Plesk. and navigate to Domains > example.com > PHP Settings
  2. Switch PHP support option from PHP-FPM to another one, e.g. PHP-FastCGI and click OK:

    Sometimes when i save a new password i'll get "Internal error: Bad Gateway"

    i can login under windows 10, but i can only see the directory listing. Can't access files! no view, no upload, no download, but i can see the filesize. tested with 2 different directorys with "admin".

    Could you please share details of the issue?

    Where are you changing the password?
    Am I correct that you are accessing via FTP to Plesk server?
    Also, please clarify OS and Plesk version.
