Diagnostic Report in MailEnable under MailEnable > Servers > localhost > System > Diagnose shows the following error:
CONFIG_TEXT: Local Mail Domain Resolution Test (home) Error: Could not resolve your Local Domain Name in DNS. You should change the local domain name to a domain name that is registered in DNS. This setting is found in the MMC under the properties of the SMTP Connector Error: Could not resolve DNS. (123) Fail
The DNS settings used by the SMTP Connector have caused tests to 'Fail'. Some diagnostic tests have been skipped. Please review your configuration and re-run this utility. Fail
This error means that under the properties of the SMTP Connector (in the MailEnable Administration program), a domain name has been specified in the textbox marked as local domain name, and the domain name specified here does not resolve in DNS.
This is either because the DNS server that is specified under the SMTP Connector's properties is invalid or there are no DNS MX records defined for the domain specified.
- Login to the server via RDP ;
Find the IP address of DNS server using the following command:
C:\> ipconfig /all
- Make sure that the same DNS server has been specified under Mailenable > Servers > localhost > Services and Connections > SMTP > Properties ;
