Applicable to:

  • Plesk for Linux

Symptoms

Cannot upgrade Plesk, the following error occurs on pre-check:

Unable to find "main" IP address in psa database.

The solution from the article does not fix the issue

The same IP address configured twice in the network settings:

    # grep 203.0.113.2 /etc/network/interfaces
address 203.0.113.2
address 203.0.113.2

Cause

The same IP address configured twice in the network settings

Resolution

Review network settings of the server. If such settings are required, set the main IP address manually in Plesk database:

  • create dump of PSA database:

    MYSQL_PWD=`cat /etc/psa/.psa.shadow` mysqldump -u admin psa > psa`date +%F_%H.%M`.sql

  • find the main IP in Plesk database

    mysql> select id, ip_address, main from IP_Addresses;

    +----+-----------------+-------+
    | id | ip_address | main |
    +----+----------------+-------+
    | 1 | 203.0.113.2 | false |
    | 2 | 203.0.113.5 | false |
    +----+----------------+-------+
  • update psa.IP_Addresses table as follows:

    mysql> update psa.IP_Addresses set main='true' where id = 1

Continue with upgrading Plesk.
