1. Connection to MySQL database via APS script fails:
CONFIG_TEXT: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'
[MySQL][ODBC 5.1 Driver]Access denied for user 'ODBC'@'localhost' (using password: NO)
/example.asp, line 10
2. ODBC DSN connection example was configured via Plesk > Tools & Settings > ODBC Data Sources.
3. User and password are missing in Start Menu > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > ODBC Data Sources (32 bit) > System DSN > example > Configure.
The password is not saved in ODBC DSN.
Plesk does not store the password inside stored ODBC DSN.
Such behavior is intended and based on security concerns. If the password is stored in ODBC DSN, any script on the server will be able to access the database.
Therefore, Plesk asks for a password just to validate connection and after that connection is stored without a password.
It is required to specify explicitly DSN name and password in the application.
As a workaround, connect to the server via RDP and add missing user and password in Start Menu > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > ODBC Data Sources (32 bit) > System DSN > example > Configure, however, this is not recommended from the security standpoint.
