Notifications about available updates for WordPress are not sent to users, while notifications about installed updates are sent

Note: This article has the reference to the issue with the fix available:

  • #EXTWPTOOLK-561 "In case of available major updates, administrators of WordPress websites with minor automatic updates enabled received daily notifications about installed updates even though these updates were not actually installed. Meanwhile, notifications about available updates were not delivered."

Symptoms

  1. Notifications about installed updates are sent to users every day, even though no updates were actually installed:
    Updates were automatically installed for the following applications:
    My CMS (http://example.com <http://example.com/>). New version: 4.0.17. Previous version: 4.0.17.
  2. No notifications about available updates are sent.

Cause

It is known bug #EXTWPTOOLK-561 of WordPress Toolkit, which has been fixed in WordPress Toolkit 2.1 .

Resolution

Check How to update Plesk extensions article and make sure Wordpress Toolkit is updated to the latest version.
