Question

Why notification about available Plesk updates is visible on the Multiserver master node and not visible on the service node?

Answer

This behavior is caused by desync in Plesk updates check on the management and server nodes. This is an expected behavior since both have separate scheduled tasks.

To make Plesk on the server node check for its updates perform the following actions:

  1. Create backup of Plesk database:

    MYSQL_PWD=`cat /etc/psa/.psa.shadow` mysqldump -u admin psa psa`date +%F_%H.%M`.sql

  2. Update timestamp for last Plesk updates check in psa.misc table as follows and set it more then week ago, due to the fact that Plesk checks updates one per week based on the last update time stamp.

    # plesk db

    mysql> update psa.misc set val="2017-04-10T03:18:47+02:00" where param="autoupdater_last_run_date";
  3. Run the DailyMaintenance task with the following option to check for Plesk updates only:

    /usr/local/psa/bin/sw-engine-pleskrun /usr/local/psa/admin/plib/DailyMaintainance/script.php -f CheckForUpdates

In case of perform major Plesk upgrade in the Multiserver environment the proper way is describe in the knowledgebase article
