Question
Is it possible to create a mailbox or forwarding for domain alias in Plesk?
Answer
Plesk does not allow creating mailboxes under domain aliases. Instead, the mailboxes of the primary domain are used.
If on domain alias creation select the Mail service option, the mailboxes created under the primary domain will also be available under the alias.
If the mail is sent to a mailbox on the domain alias (john.doe@alias-example.com), it will be forwarded to the mailbox with the same name on the primary domain (john.doe@example.com).
So, the necessary forwarding rules can be configured on the mailboxes of the primary domain.

This seems to have changed recently as it appears no longer possible to add email alias from another domain to the primary domain.
For example, I have primarydomain.uk as the primary domain. I then have secondarydomain.co.uk as a domain alias of primarydomain.uk. Mail service is enabled on both. When I go to an email address on primarydomain.uk, and go to "Email Aliases" tab, I can only add email aliases for @primarydomain.uk and no other option.

You have an email address mail@primarydomain.uk. Then you set up an alias for primarydomain.uk, for example, secondarydomain.co.uk. If you select the Mail service option, all mail sent to mail@secondarydomain.co.uk will be available at mail@primarydomain.uk.
So it is not needed to create a mailbox on the alias domain. Mailbox corresponding to primary domain's mailbox is created automatically.
