Unable to start named-chroot.service: /etc/named.conf:10: change directory to '/var/named/chroot/var' failed: file not found

Symptoms

Unable to start named-chroot.service, and this error is shown:

# systemctl start named-chroot.service

Cause

Wrong configuration /etc/named.conf

Resolution

Edit the line 10 of the file /etc/named.conf, and change

directory "/var/named/chroot/var";

by

directory "/var";

And then start the service with:

systemctl start named-chroot.service
