PHP settings for Roundcube get overwritten after upgrade

Applicable to:

  • Plesk Onyx 17.5 for Linux

Symptoms

Custom PHP settings for Roundcube webmail specified in /etc/psa-webmail/roundcube/php.ini are missing after Plesk upgrade, for example date.timezone .

Cause

This issue is caused by Plesk bug #PPPM-6105 and will be fixed in future product updates.

Resolution

As a workaround:

1. Back up the modified /etc/psa-webmail/roundcube/php.ini file before upgrade:

# cp -p /etc/psa-webmail/roundcube/php.ini /root/php.ini_before_upgrade_rc

2. Restore custom PHP settings after upgrade:

# cp -p /root/php.ini_before_upgrade_rc /etc/psa-webmail/roundcube/php.ini

Additional information

Roundcube shows 500 error if date.timezone is not specified
