Question
How to switch DNS for migrated Plesk subscriptions?
How to update NS records for all migrated domains on the new server?
Answer
Warning: To switch DNS, the subscription should be migrated without errors (have green or yellow icon next to the subscription name). Otherwise, the following message will be shown: This operation cannot be applied to all selected subscriptions
.
- Log in to Plesk
- Go to Tools & Settings > Migration & Transfer Manager
- Choose the appropriate migration session.
- Click on tab List of subscriptions
- Click Switch to advanced mode
- Select the migrated subscription and press Switch DNS.

I do not understand what actually happens when pressing the "switch DNS" button.
For a current migration, I used the "normal" (not advanced migration) and it seems that on the new server right away all IP addresses are adjusted to the new settings. Thus, did the switch happen already?
In addition, usually the data at the corresponding registry needs to be updated (in case name server addresses change), so this is something the Migrator cannot do easily (but it should instruct the user to do so).
Ok where can I see and manage the DNS for a domain ?
