- Plesk for Linux
How to make postfix use the certain IP address for SMTP on Plesk server?
There are 2 IP addresses on the server and only one is required not to be used for incoming SMTP connections.
The feature that is reported is yet to be implemented in Plesk, thus take part in our product improvement by referring to the following link: https://plesk.uservoice.com/forums/184549-feature-suggestions
The top-ranked suggestions are likely to be included in the next versions of Plesk.
Meanwhile, use the following workarounds:
- Connect to the Plesk server via SSH.
- Block connections to IP address that does not need to be used using iptables firewall:
# iptables -I INPUT -p tcp --dport 25 -d 203.0.113.2 -j DROP
- Configure postfix manually to use new IP address, run the following:
# postconf -e inet_interfaces=203.0.113.3
# service postfix restart
Verify that everything is working fine:
# netstat -tulpn | grep :25
# tail -f /var/log/maillog
