WordPress instance cloning fails: Unable to get a dump of the WordPress database

Symptoms

While cloning WordPress instance it fails with an error:

Unable to get a dump of the WordPress database

or

Unable to get database user password to make a dump of the WordPress database

Cause

WorPress instance contains non-UTF-8 symbols.

This is a confirmed bug in Plesk with ID EXTWPTOOLK-492 and it is fixed in WordPress Toolkit 2.0.3 .

Resolution

Install the latest version of WordPress Toolkit:

Go to Tools & Settings > Updates & Upgrades > Update Components > WordPress Toolkit
