Question
Is it possible to have a separate external web/mail server in Plesk?
Answer
Currently, there is no built-in Plesk functionality to manage external web or mail servers as service nodes.
It is possible to configure an external mail server. Note that in this case, all maintenance and management tasks (creation of mailboxes, configuring SPF, DKIM, etc.) should be performed on the external server without involving Plesk functionality.

I ask myself if it would be posible to use two plesk servers. One for email and another one for web hosting. The mail plesk server could be a dedicated server or vps with a lot of disk space and relative slow performance. And the web hosting vps or dedicated a faster one.
Then in the DNS i would configure for one of the only the mx relevant records as well as spf, dkim, and txt records belonging to email and for the other ip the a record of domain and www, ftp and so on subdomains.
Could you please confirm if this is possible? From cost point view of dedicated servers, it makes sence for me to separate email and web/app hosting.
