Plesk is showing "503 Service Unavailable" error

Linux general troubleshooting steps

The reason of 503 error can be found in Plesk web server log. In order to find the exact reason why Plesk does not work properly:

  1. Login to the server console and make sure that sw-cp-server is running:

    # service sw-cp-server start
  2. Start tailing Plesk server log:

    # tail -fn0 /var/log/sw-cp-server/error_log

    Additional logs to check: /var/log/plesk/panel.log
  3. Reproduce the issue: try to login to Plesk or to perform an operation which fails.

  2. Start tailing web server log:

    # tail -fn0 /var/log/httpd/error_log

    Additional logs to check: /var/log/apache/error_log, /var/log/nginx/error.log, /var/log/php-fpm.log, /var/log/plesk-php70-fpm/error.log
    Note: The location of log depends on the handler that is being used for the affected domain.
