How to check if a security issue CVE-XXXX-XXXX is fixed in Apache?
This can be done by checking package changelog via package manager.
Note: CVE-2017-9788 is used as an example.
For CentOS/RHEL-based distributions
# rpm -q --changelog httpd | grep CVE-2017-9788
- Resolves: #1470748 - CVE-2017-9788 httpd: Uninitialized memory reflection
For Debian/Ubuntu-based distributions
# apt-get changelog apache2 | grep CVE-2017-9788
- debian/patches/CVE-2017-9788.patch: correct string scope in
Note that the command
apt-get changelog shows changelog for all versions of a package. Check if updates are available for package using the following command:
# apt-get upgrade -s apache2 | grep apache2
apache2 is already the newest version (2.4.18-2ubuntu3.4).
