Unable to change password for the git user under the subdomain: Authentication failed

Symptoms

After changing the password for the subscription user in Plesk > Subscriptions > example.com > Web Hosting Access , any git action like git push or git clone for the subdomain git local repository that uses the new password for the subscription user, causes the following error:

fatal: Authentication failed for 'http://user@subdomain.example.com/plesk-git/subdomain.git/'

Cause

This is Plesk bug with ID #EXTGIT-45 which is planned to be fixed in future Plesk updates.

Resolution

Upload the attached archive git-1.0-203.zip in Plesk > Extensions > Upload Extension .
