How to uninstall/remove Microsoft SQL Server from server components?
2. To uninstall MSSQL 2008/2012/2014 servers use Programs and Features on Windows 2008/2012 or through the command line:
C:\> "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL11.MSSQLSERVER2012\MSSQL\Binn\sqlservr.exe" /Action=Uninstall /INSTANCENAME=MSSQLSERVER2012 /FEATURES=SQL,RS /QUIET
3. In case 2 or more instances of MSSQL are installed, for example there are MSSQL 2014 Express and MSSQL 2014 Enterprise, use the following steps to remove one of them:
3.1. Open Control Panel > "Programs and Features" and select Microsoft SQL Server 2014 (64-bit)
3.2. Click Uninstall/Change.
3.3. Select "Remove", then select Instance MSSQLSERVER2014 Express edition, then click Next and follow instructions.
4. In case of the following errors please contact Microsoft Support Team for assistance:
CONFIG_TEXT: An error occurred while trying to uninstall Microsoft SQL Server 2012 (64-bit). It may have already been uninstalled.
CONFIG_TEXT: Your SQL Server installation is either corrupt or has been tampered with (Error getting instance ID from name.). Please uninstall then re-run setup to correct this problem.
Note: Do not forget to update the information about server components in Plesk by clicking Refresh button on Home > Tools & Settings > Server Components page.
