How to enable crash dumps creation for MySQL 5.6 on Windows?

Answer

  1. Connect to the server using RDP .
  2. Open CLI and enter the following commands:

    C:\> reg ADD "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting\LocalDumps" /v DumpCount /t REG_DWORD /d 100 /f /reg:64
    C:\> reg ADD "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting\LocalDumps" /v DumpType /t REG_DWORD /d 2 /f /reg:64
    C:\> reg ADD "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting\LocalDumps" /v DumpFolder /t REG_EXPAND_SZ /d "%SystemRoot%\Temp" /f /reg:64

In that way, if MySQL service is crashed, .dmp file can be obtained in %SystemRoot%\Temp folder.
