Apache failed to started: Invalid command 'export', perhaps misspelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration

Symptoms

Apache failed to start. The following error is displayed:

CONFIG_TEXT: Syntax error on line 1 of /etc/httpd/conf.d/sysenv.conf:
Invalid command 'export', perhaps misspelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration

Cause

Corrupted /etc/httpd/conf.d/sysenv.conf

Resolution

  1. Connect to the server using SSH.
  2. Edit /etc/httpd/conf.d/sysenv.conf
  3. Make sure that the file looks as follow:

CONFIG_TEXT: LoadModule sysenv_module /usr/lib64/httpd/modules/mod_sysenv.so
<IfModule mod_sysenv.c>
UseSysEnv PP_VHOST_ID
</IfModule>
