After the Plesk Updates, the file
/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf was changed and custom modifications were overwritten. How to avoid changes to this file? Will an update fail, if add the immutable bit to the file
Plesk does not modify Apache configuration file by itself, but it could be overwritten during the packages updates caused by Plesk updates.
It is not recommended to add the immutable bit to the Apache main configuration file.
Instead of this, the customization could be added to the additional configuration files at
/etc/httpd/conf.d/ directory since it is included in the
/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf file, and such custom settings will not be lost:
# grep -i 'conf.d' /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
# Load config files in the "/etc/httpd/conf.d" directory, if any.
