Question

How to enable support for Python script engine in Plesk for Windows?

Answer

Since Plesk 12.5 Python script engine is not supported and there is no Python support option under Subscriptions > example.com > Hosting Settings . As a workaround, install Python support manually following these steps:

  1. Log into the server using RDP .
  2. Download 32-bit version of Python from autoinstall-win.pp.parallels.com or from activestate.com.
  3. Install it to the %plesk_bin%\Additional folder.
  4. Add "Read & Execute", "List folder contents" and "Read" permissions for the psacln and psaadm users to the %plesk_bin%\Additional\Python(*) folder, where (*) - Python version.
  5. Check that Python support option is enabled in the service plan and for the domain: Service Plans > [Service plan name] > Hosting parameters Subscriptions > example.com > Hosting Settings

Use this article to confirm that Python is enabled and working for the domain.
