How to troubleshoot issues with Web Business Builder?

Applicable to:

  • Plesk for Windows
  • Plesk for Linux

Question

How to troubleshoot issues with Web Business Builder (WBB)?

Answer

To successfully publish a website to Plesk using WBB, Plesk configuration must satisfy the following requirements:

  • Plesk server must allow incoming FTP connections on its firewall.
  • Non-secure FTP connections must be allowed on Tools & Settings > Security Policy .
  • Website's domain name must properly resolve via DNS to the Plesk server's IP address.
  • A website should have PHP 5.3 (or newer) enabled.

If publishing fails, please check the following logs:

  1. FTP log files:

    For Linux: https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/213403509#ftp .
    For Windows: https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/213911325#ftp .

  2. Enable Plesk debug logging as described in the corresponding articles:

For Linux: How to enable/disable debug logging in Plesk Onyx and earlier versions for Linux .
For Windows: How to enable/disable debug logging in Plesk 11.5 and higher for Windows .

Reproduce the issue and check Plesk log:

    For Linux: /var/log/plesk/panel.log
    For Windows: %plesk_dir%\admin\logs\php_error.log

  3. If publishing errors persist, troubleshoot the FTP connections using network packet analyser (tcpdump/Wireshark) utility on the Plesk server.

To troubleshoot the errors with the extension itself, you can check its logs by opening URL https://SERVER_IP:8443/modules/web-business-builder/index.php/index/logs
